A bunch of articles, lecture notes and a book with hundreds of pages. This week is exam week. Although most of my friends are studying in the library these days, I prefer to study at home. Why? Check out my tips and tricks to enjoy studying!
♥ Rosie is a blog about the things I love to do, but unfortunately there are also things I have to do. Studying, for example.
After having a course in 'Strategic studying' at the training department of my university, I enjoy studying a lot more than I previously did. I learned to discover which parts of a book are most important to focus on, how to make a summary, and how to make a study schedule that really works for me.
A helpful tool for studying is Examtime.com. On this website you can set learning goals for yourself, create a study schedule, make mind-maps and practice with flashcards. Especially mind-mapping is a great way to make summary's, which I use for almost every exam. But instead of making a summary yourself, you can also buy one at your study association.

Strategic studying also means: taking time for a break. When you try to study without breaks, you might lose your focus on studying. For that reason I take breaks regularly when I am studying for exams. During a break, I like doing something totally different than reading those boring study books. For example: going outside to get some fresh air, checking my favorite blogs and websites, making a healthy sandwich for lunch or just doing absolutely nothing at all.
Besides enjoying your breaks, you can make studying itself also more enjoyable. I prefer to study at home, just because I like the ambiance of my home more than the ambiance in the university library. Furthermore, I like to use markers in my favorite colors and drink some hot chocolate milk or tea while studying. Using an online tool such as Examtime.com can be enjoyable too, as it helps you to quickly go through the study material. For sure, this will help you through exam week!
Do you have tips and tricks to enjoy studying too? I am curious to hear about it! You can leave a comment on the bottom of the page ☺.
Love, Rosie
